DivX 7 for Windows 7.2

With the advent of high-definition video, many people are finding that programs like Windows Media Player just aren't good enough anymore. HD video demands a player that can do it justice, and DivX 7 for Windows handles this task formidably.
DiVX 7 for Windows is actually a whole suite of utilities, including a player, converter, codec, Web player, and DirectShows filter. We put each of the applications through its paces and found them all to be intuitive and well designed. The player is specially designed to maximize the appearance and audio of high-definition video, and the converter allows users to optimize videos for the platform on which they will be viewed. The codec allows users to view HD videos in other players, such as Windows Media Player, and the DirectShows filter allows users to configure AVC decoder properties. If all of this sounds confusing, you're right to be concerned; DiVX 7 isn't for users who aren't familiar with the ins and outs of HD video. Those who are, however, will find this group of tools to be quite helpful. The program has no built-in Help file, but the online support page provides a comprehensive set of FAQs, tutorials, and how-to guides.
DivX 7 is free to try, but the accompanying DiVX Converter and DiVX Pro Codec have a 15-day trial period. The program installs desktop icons without asking and leaves a desktop icon and folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
